I should think he's likely to be Granville Jowett Kemp, who married Sep 1907 Bradford 9b 3.

No luck on the birth.
If you look at the 1881 census on www.familysearch.org you find the family (obviously Granville not yet born) who are mostly Kemp, but include a "Prescilla Jowett", 18, illegitimate child of wife, as well as a Sophia Wells, 19, illegitimate child of husband. The latter appears with the family in 1891 as Sophia Wells Kemp, aged 30.
Reference in 1881 is RG11/4424 folio 62 p7.

Elizabeth Jowett seems to have been a 15-yr-old living with her widowed mother and siblings in 1861: RG9/3338 folio 80 p4.
I wonder whether Granville was in fact a child of one of the daughters of John and Elizabeth and either not registered at all or registered under some other name.

Thanks for all the help. John's first wife was Hannah Wells who had illigit daughter Sophia Wells.they had Fred,Walter,Lavinia and Emma.
John married Elizabeth Jowett, who had illigit daughter Priscilla.Their children were Sarah Ann,John William,Hannah and Granville. I hadn't thought Granville wasn't their child, but I understand what you mean.

Hmmm... I see Priscilla (now married as Hanson) has a 5 month old son Granville in 1891. Obviously the name was a family favourite!
Perhaps the next step is to obtain the older Granville's 1907 marriage certificate so see what it says about his father (though it may not be reliable). Very mystifying that his birth registration can't be found at all.

I had not followed Priscilla up,I see she has a son called Granville, so now I have 2 Granvilles!!!
