Where did she go?

I've been trying for a while now to locate my great grandmother in 1901. Her name was Eliza Harker, b1874 in Staithes. I can find her in the 1881 and 1891 census' but not the 1901. She didn't marry till 1903, and was living in Bradford when she married. I've tried numerous spellings of her name. She's not with her parents or any of her siblings.

Any ideas?

1901 Census

Eliza Harker age 27 born Grantham Lincs still in Lincolnshire, l dont have access to the gov site or ancestry, but she is there.

Thanks Jean but I think that's a different one. My Eliza was born in Staithes, near Whitby.

Mine was born Waltham but came under Caistor so this could have happened with yours and also can vary from census to census.

I didn't realise, I thought that the birth county at least would be the same. Makes it all more confusing!
It's still not my Eliza though, I've had a look and this one is married, mine is still single in 1901.

Thank you all.

Parents, John and Ann and siblings living with them (John and Priscilla), as Jane has said in the above post. Other siblings - George, Eleanor, Mary and Herbert, all accounted for. I have the 1901 census for all of them and she's not with them.

Only me again, did she have an occupation on her marriage certificate?? might lead to a clue, just a thought

Ok she is well hidden, I have tried a wild card - nothing, changed Harker to Parker, Clarker - nothing, did she have another christian name Huh

She's a difficult one isn't she?

Her middle name was Ann (tried that), no occupation when she was married, nor in the 1891 census when she was 16. I've tried various different types of her name - Eliz, Elizabeth, Lizzie etc and various surnames.

I checked her husband to be just in case she was living under the brush with him but no! Wink

Apparently she was never quite sure how old she was, maybe she got her age wrong?
