Hi,

I'm having difficulty in finding the birth of a Francis Cartwright around 1810 in the Thornton-le-Beans/Brompton/Northallerton area of north yorkshire. From his marriage cert his father was William Cartwright... and on the 1841 census there is an elderly lady in the household called Hannah Cartwright whom could be his mother or an aunt maybe aged 70 years...

any help would be appreciated,

Have you looked on www.familysearch.org - there's a Pedigree Resource file on there for Francis which may help

Hi,

yeah I've tried the IGI site but can't find the birth of Francis Cartwright (1810-1857) son of a William Cartwright born around the North Yorkshire area.

I can find the marriage of a William Cartwright to Elizabeth Rummonds 1792.... and there's a William Cartwright married to a Mary around that time too but can't determine if either of these couples had a son called francis.. or even if William is the same and remarried at some point...

Hi,

There is a birth of a Francis Cartwright 1811 son of William and Elizabeth but its in Shropshire area.... not dure this could be the correct family or not...

Shropshire is a long way from Thornton-le-Beans in Yorkshire though, where 1841/1851 census states is his birthplace Huh

Stranger things have happened though, maybe he was born there but brought up in Thornton le Beans

yeah, struggling to find him... tried Francis, Frances and Frank in Yorkshire but can't find his birth Huh
