Hello - Just registered as I was looking for old Granby Street pictures, or indeed info. My wife was born in the rooms above the cafe that used to be at 15 Granby Street. It may have been called Sid's Cafe. This is the half of Granby Street that was demolished about 30 years ago so I'm not holding out for much!!!
Any pics, info sources etc etc would be appreciated

Thanks Annie, doing lots further back myself, but this is probably the most difficult one!! My wife was put into care from birth although we know she was born at 15 Granby Street. Her real mother died some years ago (she never met her) and although we did find some distant family the pointer seems to be that her father lived (or ran) the cafe. So was he, or wasn't he, that is the question??? It's just interesting I suppose!
Sid Barker, who lived above the cafe was the partner of Catherine Delores Loo (half chinese). In 1963 she had a daughter (the Mrs) .... Does anybody have any info?
Actually, a picture of the cafe at 15 Granby Street would be a good enough goal

Annie
That looks very much like a slanted point of view being portrayed on that website. Not sure that they are on top of things at all but don't want to get into politics, but thanks for the link.

Many thanks to RedKop and Ged, (the owner of the Site at the above link) for some great pics of Granby Street. I've also lifted a copy of a map at toxteth.net which shows the house were my Mrs was born. All now added to my Family Tree file.
