Trying to find Lawrence Henderson Boothe b Bet. Jul–Sep 1864 in Portsea, Hants, he was a Medical Student at 1881 census in Scotland but after that the trail goes cold. I believe that he may have emigrated to South Africa, his parents were George Fisher Boothe who was an engineer in the Royal Navy, and Helen nee Henderson; Lawrence's parents died in England.

Hi Ev,
Yes I got 1864 from Ancestry, Helen was my g great aunt and Lawrence was my 1st cousin, 3 times removed.
Lawrence was a medical student at the 1881 census living in Haddington Close in Edinburgh-coincidental that his mother was born and lived in Haddingtonshire before she moved south with her parents!
