Hi
I hope someone can help!
Does anyone have the parish records for Leeds Kent?
I am looking for the baptism of Benjamin Marsh born c 1820/1822.
On the 1851 census it said he was born in Marden but I have had their records checked for him.I think his parents Edward Marsh married Elizabeth Bassett Leeds 1822.Maybe they had him baptized where they married?

If  Benjamin was born 1820-2 but Elizabeth & Edward married in 1882 it may be that Benjamin was illegimate and baptised as Benjamin BASSETT.

The Index of Marden bapstisms shows a Benjamin BASSETT born in June but no year is given. Sad

Hi.
Thankyou Bearkat and Betty.I donnot have details of Edward's marriage,only it was 1822 Leeds.
That a thought that he was illegitimate and baptized Benjamin Bassett and once his parents married was known as Benjamin Marsh.Happened before in my tree!
I did find on IGI a Benjamin Bassett baptized Marden but this was August 1792 far too early to be my Benjamin.
I donnot know why Marden records donnot have the years for their records!

Elizabeth BASSETT  Sp of Leeds
Witnesses:
Ann Marsh, William Hollands

There's no Baptism for Benjamin under Bassett in Leeds either Sad

Thanks for that.But not sure who Ann Marsh  could be as as far as I know no Ann in my Marsh tree.If Ann was his sister,this may not be my Edward!
