1881Census puzzle.

I am looking for Thomas Edward Cole in 1881.  On the 1871 he is shown as being in Houghton, Southampton with his wife, Anna, and children Owen 10, Austin 7 and Elizabeth 5.
They are all born in Dorset.  I have found Anna in 1881 as a visitor in Gillingham at the home of the Hayter family. 
Thomas and their children (Owen is my grandfather) seem to have eluded the census!
Could someone please find the time to look into this for me?

(Just for the record, Thomas' birth place is Kington Magna Dorset in 1871)

Not much help with Owen, is it! He's eluding me in 1881  Sad
I suppose you have found him in 1891 (RG12/933 68 18)?

Well done Tati - this is clearly the right family.

The other 2 births are:

Owen Joseph Roberts Cole     b. Dec.1860 Shaftesbury
Louisa Elizabeth Cole              b. Dec.1865 Shaftesbury

I can't find Owen either - perhaps in Army?

Brilliant, Tati,
I checked Edgar Austin and found him and Thomas in 1881 in Ashford, Middlesex.  Louisa Elizabeth is there too.

Annette, sill looking for Owen, but maybe have found him in 1891 in Hampshire, Stockbridge (where they used to live) as a visitor with the Bredmore family.

I think Thomas Edward died in 1888 so will now search for Anna in 1891
