Hi,
I have been looking for Henry Michael Lyons on the 1901 census but so far have had no luck tracing him in Dorset or any where else.
His wife is on the census in Dorset:
Sarah Ann Lyons age 33
Dorchester All Saints
with their son Charles B age 1 and William N Fox age 11.
Henry was born in 1868 in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. he spent some of his time in Burton and had a spell in a reform school in East Ham when he was 13.
He moved to Dorset and married his first wife and had a son called Henry. His wife died and his son was sent back to live in Burton with his grandparents Martha and Charles.
We are not sure whether he joined the merchant navy and that might explain his absence in 1901 or worse as family memories indicate that someone in this branch of the family spent time in prison.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
