1841 census lookup: William MOTH
« on: Thursday 06 March 08 13:28 GMT (UK) »

Hi all,

William MOTH married Ann PALMER in 1792 in Farnham, Surrey. I don't know when he was born but, looking at his marriage date, I'd put it in the early 1770s. I know of six children Diana (1793), Sarah (1795), Mary (1796), Edward (1797), Sophia (1800 and Charlotte (1803).

Of these, I know that Sophia was born in Cove, Hampshire.

Is there anyone who can help me find William MOTH on the 1841 census?

Many thanks.

Thanks for finding those, Kerry,

I no longer have an Ancestry subscription so can't view the return.

Are there any other people in the 1841 census?

Also, is this http://www.rootschat.com/links/02w6/ a possibility?

Rebecca Moth married George Heartfree in Horsell, Surrey on 21st August 1827. I haven't been able to find any record of Rebecca Moth's birth or baptism to check out her mother's name.

So presumably she was born early 1800s.  Hmm I'll go search!

Nothing coming up on IGI or familyhistoryonline.

We need someone with access to Cove records!

I don't think so.

Anne Moth buried 23 Sep 1839 in Frimley aged 31.  She's the only one who would fit the facts above.  There isn't another one in Surrey for the right date.

The name is very common in this area - lots in Yateley, Farnham, Frimley etc.  And quite a few named William!
