Have been totally stuck on this for a while wonder if anyone can help.Have got back to my 5 x Grandparents Joseph Bird and Dorcas Sweeting who married in Great Dunmow in 1776 they went on to have 9 children all christened in the Parish Church.Joseph b-1777 m Mary Wood in Hatfield Broad Oak in 1803 (my direct line),.Sarah 1778-1782,Daniel-1781,Robert b-1783,Henry b-1786,Edward b-1789,Mary b-1790,Millicent b-1795,Letty 1799-1800.
However there were no Bird baptisms,Marriages or Deaths in the parish records of Great Dunmow before the ones above .So doesnt look like my family originated there?Dorcas Sweeting wasnt christened in Dunmow either, Any Ideas where to look next?Or am i stuck as Bird is such a common name in Essex? They stayed in Essex Joseph and Mary going to Fryerning where their children were born then Childerditch where their grandchildren were born.Any ideas would be welcome .

Thanks to a look up done by essexbird2004 on the Sweeting name.Think ive possibly found one baptism
Dorcas Sweeting dau of Henry and Sarah 13/07/1755 at Barnston which is near Great Dunmow.Place and age fits and name is quite unusual so think its correct
Still totally stuck on Joseph Bird?
