I hope there someone out there who can shed some light on the Bendalls of Stonham all i know is Richard Bendall 1820 was born in Earl Stonham and Married Harriett and had 3 sons i'm also looking for Arthur Thomas Bendall 1853?
Any Info would be greatful are there any Bendalls who know anything about our History what happened to them,

There is a Suffolk Board on here which you might want to check out too.
In 1861 living in Earl Stonham High Road (possibly the A140 main road through the village ?)
Richard Bendall head of household a blacksmith aged 42
His wife Harriet age 36
son Richard 12
daughter Harriet 5
son Arthur 8
son James 3
son William 6 or possibly 8 months
A small book of the village was produced for the Millennium. I have a copy and will check for any info on blacksmiths in the village.

In 1871 there is a Richard Bendall age 22 living in the parish of Norton as a lodger at the home of George and Dinah Smith, ages 36 and 35 respectively.
He is working as a blacksmith, George is an Agricultural Labourer.
Richard Bendall age 52, with wife Harriet age 46, is living in Crowfield and still working as a blacksmith, with children Arthur 18, James 13 and William 11.

Just along the road, at 103 Woodhouse Street in the parish of St Helen Ipswich
Richard James Bendall age 32 a blacksmith born Earl Stonham
Emma his wife age 25 born Ipswich
Alice, their daughter age 1 year.
In 1891 living at Great Whip Street in the parish of St Peter in Ipswich
Richard Bendall age 42 blacksmith
Emma his wife age 35
daughters Alice 11, Florence age 9 and Caroline age 6.
