Banningham? place name?

In a couple of censuses I've come across people we are sure were born in or near Salisbury/Quarley as being from Banningham or even Birmingham
can anyone local knowledge help to identify this place?

Hi Teresa,

I can't find anything that fits the bill.  There is a Banningham - in Norfolk Undecided.  Quarley is actually in Hampshire, about 13 miles from Salisbury.  In Wiltshire, there is Bemerton which is on the outskirts of Salisbury and a Bodenham about 3 miles towards Romsey.  The only other Wiltshire parish which looks or sounds like it it is Bremilham, on the outskirts of Malmesbury on the other side of the county.
