that marriage was regd in worcester in july qtr 1854 is that the one you mean
mary holt ,mary willis, are on the same page.
there was one in pershore but that was in 1855 oct qtr. the only mary on the same page was mary smith.

if they are the family that have a daughter edith in the 1861 census
then mary was born abt 1836 in charlton worcestershire.
the only mary that matches up on the 1851 census is a mary smith
which matches the 1855 marriage

Thanks Wozzle,

I had the Mary Smith option, but the Mary Willis/Holt thing, as you say ,  were both on the same page with a William Beard and a William Baird, and I didn't know who belonged with who. I can trace forward now,

I found this on a william beard, is this the same one you are looking for?
He was married twice.

This is his general details:
Birth: 1 Jan 1798 Powick, Worcester, England   
Christening:   21 Jan 1798 Powick, Worcester, England   
Death: 12 Feb 1862 Mill Creek, Salt Lake, Utah   
Burial:   Feb 1862 Millcreek Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah

These are his marriages:
Spouse:Alice Ann FREEMAN
Marriage:  12 Oct 1824 Whitbourne, Hereford, England 
   
Spouse:  Mary Matilda (Polly) HOLT
Marriage:  27 Aug 1854 Worcester, Worcester, England

Maybe another relation, one branch of the family did go to USA in the 1840's. I think that Wozzle had the one I was looking for, but I will definately check to see if this one is related to Ann Walters, nee Beard, who sailed from Southampton to USA in 1840's and died in Salt lake City in 1873.
