Alice Moreton ROBERTS - 1901 Census

I'm giving myself a headache with this and wonder if anyone else can have a look for me.  I'm trying to find Alice Moreton ROBERTS hopefully with husband Edwin ROBERTS - I'm guessing in Cheshire but not sure.

They married in 1891 at Nantwich (after the census, she is at RG12 2849/96 Page 35), her maiden name is Alice Moreton YOUD.  I just can't see them in 1901.  I've checked for a death but nothing as far as I can see, the only possibles seem to be in Birkenhead, RG13 3388/158 Page 7, but she should have been born in Willaston (the one near Nantwich) and the age is out (she was born 1871).

I have no other information on Edwin except the marriage index.

Can anyone see any other likely glimpses?  Any help greatly appreciated!  Smiley

Hi Jean -

I don't think the Birkenhead one is yours - there is a brother in law with them surname Moore.

Can't see yours tho - will keep looking!

The Birkenhead Alice/Edward could be a possibility - it looks like this Edwin in 1891 was married to an Elizabeth and had a 2 yr old son Samuel (who died in 1892)

Marriage cert would tell you if Edwin was a widower

Thanks to both of you, at least it confirms that I'm not missing something obvious.

A bit too much of a twig for a cert I'm afraid, just tying up some loose ends really.
