Hi I have been researching my family and have come to a standstill and wonder if you could make sense of the entries in the census details regarding Sophia Carver. She was married to James Carver but she seems to have lived in several places at the same time.
James Carver was born 1807 and Sophia ( haven't been able to find a maiden name as yet) Born 1809 I think
I would be grateful if you could make sense of it for me. Thank you
Cazanne

Which census do you want checking?
I can find a Sophia married to james Carver of abt correct age - her p.o.b. is consistently given as Southill beds - James was b. Beds too
Can't understand why your topic is headed Stanton Family of herts and you are enquiring about the Carver family??
Have I misread your post??

Hi sorry to confuse you. I am trying to look up the Stanton family. John Bird was married to Sophia I am not sure if I have the right Sophia however. Bird was my grandmothers maiden name John was her father His wife Martha was a Carver I believe.

oops -lost me agan - you have now entered another surname into the search !
Now let's put this into some kind of order
You are researching the Stanton family from Herts ? Is that correct?
Your grandmother's maiden name was Bird -is that correct?
Your grandmother's father was james Bird -and he was possibly married to Martha Carver?
So are you assuming James Carver and Sophia were the parents of martha?
If this is so - can we have some dates and p.o.b.
First your grandmother's father John Bird -when and where was he born???
He married martha Carver -when and where was she born -and when did they marry?
How do James and Sophia fit into the picture???
What do you mean in your original post re Sophia Carver living in several places at the same time???
Where did you find this information ?
Which census do you need looking up?
I think you should edit your post title -as it is not the Stanton family you are requesting information on
I would love to help but need more information
Hoping to hear more details
Suz

sorry for all the questions- but there's no point in guessing who you are looking for.
Just work backwards through your research -and then post again under the surname of the person you are looking for
We would love to help you
If we can be of any assistance in helping sort your research please ask
Suz
