Some research has shown me that I may have been hunting for this fellow in the wrong county. He was born abt 1808ish.
In one of the census he said place of birth as Beckingham..have searched in Lincolnshire in vain. So could be Notts. and even there abouts. He married in Staffordshire and had some children Worcester. The entire family ended up in Worksop.
Anyone have him ?

Start by listing in full all census returns, including all household members.
What about parish records, when & where did he marry?

George is a widower living with his son Samuel and his 2nd wife Jane and children) place of birth here is given as Buckingham.
My thought has been if one can allow for accents maybe Beckingham may have been place of birth. I have searched through the PR records of Beckingham Lincolnshire. I recently found another Beckingham in Notts. George's son Samuel 2nd wife family came from Beckingham Notts.

Hi Eds,
It may be worthwhile posting a request on the Buckinghamshire board too, as he sometimes says he was born in Buckingham  . There are some very helpful people over there.
It would be worthwhile for you to link the Buckinghamshire request to this one, so people can see all the census details.
