Hello everyone!
I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to look up Agnes Rees on the 1901 cr. I believe she was born in 1874 Sheffield, and I expect to find her living in Sheffield, perhaps a widow. Thank you!
Helen.

Hi Dee,
Thank you for helping me.
I was trying to find the widow of Thomas Rees who died in 1899, Sheffield.
He either married an Agnes Moor Willey or Mary Emma Wood in 1894 Sheffield.
You have found Agnes, so thank you, but I think I can rule this family out (although I'll save your work as I'm sure I'll fit them into my family tree somewhere).
I think it's Mary Emma Rees I should be looking for in 1901, who if she's there, might be Thomas's widow.
Thank you for your help.
Helen.

Hi Helen
Looking at the other name on the page for the marriage - Joe Ingram There is a family in 1901 Agnes Moor Ingram, Jos Ingram and Edith pauline Ingram, so I think you would be correct that Mary Emma Wood married your Thomas Rees

Hi Trish,
Thanks for your help. I never thought of working 'the other way around'.
Hopefully, someone will find Mary Emma Rees in 1901 for me!
Thanks to all!
Helen.

Hi Trish,
Thanks for your help. On Ancestry, I spotted a Mary E Rees b 1868 city, yorkshire living in city Yorkshire, when I ran a search with 'Sheffield' as a key word.
It's got a little orange triangle next to her name, which I haven't noticed before, which says 'other possible names' Mary E Wood.
Unfortunately my subscription has ran out, so any help is really appreciated.
Regards,
Helen.

Interesting - the alternative name is Wood! Must admit I saw it earlier & decided it didn't fit because she was a "daughter" in the list - I should have checked the name of the father!!!
RG13/4379 69/25 Brightsied Bierlow East Brightside Yorkshire 12 Gower Street William M Wood head wid 50 shot blaster (stone) Shropshire Bridgeworth Mary E rees daur M 33 dressmaker Yorks Kilnhurst John Y Rees gdson 3 Yorks Sheffield Robert Cutts boarder M 55 Iron founder Derbys Brimington
And there is a little one & it definitely says M for Mary (not Wid or W)

Mortified I missed it first time around - Tati would not be impressed
Searching the Census beats doing the dishes - sadly they don't go anywhere - never a dish fairy around when needed.
regards
Trish

Agreed! I should be walking my three dogs this morning, but looks like they didn't go anywhere either. I'll be a better doggy-mommy this afternoon! I have had a good family tree morning! - Thanks again.
