The naming convention goes like this, deb (I don't know if Jews adhered to it or not):

1st son:     Father's father
2nd son:    Mother's father
3rd son:     Father
4th son:     Father's eldest brother
5th son:     Father's second oldest brother or mother's oldest brother

1st dau:     Mother's mother
2nd dau:    Father's mother
3rd dau:     Mother
4th dau:     Mother's eldest sister
5th dau:     Mother's second oldest sister or father's oldest sister

Lord knows what happened with the sixth son or daughter....   Grin

Hi everone,

I have just been going over this thread from the beginning and marking what I need to do at the Met Archives. Smiley

I keep asking myself, as someone lse did, I cant remember who right now   Roll Eyes

Why did Emmanuel and Susan Palmer never marry  Undecided it would seem to buck the trend with his brothers , in as much as we know at the moment.

They were both in the early 20's when Phillips was b in 1854 so I don't see how either could be widowed.

Perhaps we should see if they married later in life, I had not done that .

Hi Pat

I have looked at 1841 again ...and I cannot see Emmanuel anywhere ...he is driving me nuts .... Sad Angry

I think I asked yesterday about them maybe marrying later in their relationship ... It just seems to go against everything that he would not marry her and make his children legal ...

will look for later marriages ...
