Hi there,
I am trying to trace my roots for the Cookson family. I understand that William Cookson born abt 1668 married Dorothy Fothergill in 1693 in Penrith. The Cookson were involved in pewtering and were also braziers, before going down a few generations to be Canon of Windsor. From what I have managed to get from lds site, William's father was Henry Cookeson. Does anyone have this family on their database? or know where i could find transcriptions for baptisms for St Andrews, Penrith? I am trying to find out William's siblings details, as well as Henry's details.
Many thanks Jackie

i also saw those igi baptisms. apparently there is a book that was published by W. Percy Hedley and C. Roy Hudleston, called "Cookson of Penrith, Cumberland and Newcastle upon Tyne" which shows lineage. Unfortuantely when I went to amazon, they advise not available and not sure when it will be again. If anyone perhaps knows of that book, i woul really appreciate a lookup on it.
Regards Jackie
