Hi
Would some kind soul be able to look at 2 marriages for me- John Barker to Catherine Hopkinson at Pentich 05/09/1836- George Barker to Ruth Shaw at Alfreton 01/06/1830- both marriages from IGI
Looking for all the usual extra info re father's if listed etc.
Also if someone able to, could they see if they hold Parish registers for baptisms at Codnor c1809 -1811ish. I am trying to trace the birth of Hannah Barker, but have been unable to track down these records. A lady looked for me at Derbyshire a long while ago but couldn't trace them, maybe Matlock would have them? I have also tried contacting Lichfield diocese as I was told that they would have them but they can't find them either
I have a feeling that it is possible that John and George may be Hannah's brothers as they list birth place as Codnor on census, b c 1807/08 John has also named a daugher Hannah.
Hoping I may get some clues as to possible parents for my Hannah. Hannah married William Jones in Dudleston, Ellesmere c 1833, but unfortunately those records are missing too
Thanks sorry for longwinded message

There would be no baptism records in Codnor for the years 1809-1811 as there was no church in Codnor at that time. I did some research on a lady who was born there in 1817 and her husband helped build the first church in Codnor. They married (and worshipped at) Selston Church Nottinghamshire -which wasn't the nearest church by road, but over the fields it wouldn't be so far. So you will have to look in other areas. Heanor St lawrence may be another possibility-unfortunately Baptisms for heanor St lawrence are only on line from 1817

Be patient with replies - people tend to look at the info -go away check records and then come back if they have found anything
I'm one of them!!!

Dear Simone, Can't help much but these are the details of your weddings. John Barker & Catherine Hopkinson witnesses are Joseph Johnson & Elizabeth Davis, no parents at this date. George Barker & Ruth Shaw witnesses are John Stewart & Joseph Rolbey, again no parents
