Can anyone decipher this place of birth please?
« on: Wednesday 12 March 08 10:23 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I did this look up for a rootschat member but I'm not sure what the place of birth is...

It's from the 1851 census

William and Mary French.  If you want to see the original search for Mary born Woolverhampton 1800, residing in Sawbridgeworth, Herts

Williams place of birth has been transcribed as Linton, Carmarthenshire, Wales.  But I think it could be Linton in Cambridgeshire...

What do you think?

TIA

Thanks Catherine,

I was pretty sure too but didn't want to tell the person I'd found it for that it was def Cambs if I was reading it wrongly!
