Would somebody be able to look up the marriage on 5 Jun 1716 of James MARSHALL and Anne HARDING at Kensworth please? I'm particularly interested to see if he's described as a widower.
I know Kensworth used to be in Hertfordshire, but as far as I can tell the records are now at Bedford.
The detail from the Kensworth marriage on June 5th 1716 is
James Marshall of Harpenden to Ann Harding of Wheathampstead, Herts, by licence
.... no mention of him being widower
Regards John

Hi John Many thanks for your help with that - the Harpenden and Wheathampstead show that it probably is who I thought it was. Unusual for them to marry outside either of their parishes. I'll have to investigate whether the marriage licence survives. Regards Richard.
