Burton Hall? Warcop:Complete

I know this is a very long shot,but is this a photo of Burton Hall? up in the fells above Warcop,It was flattened by the Army in the mid 50,s

It might be worth sending this to the local paper.   Cumberland Herald or Westmorland Gazette are the two that spring to mind.  The Herald in particular likes that sort of historical thing.

Well it aint Burton Hall,I went over to see this guy,and belive it or not,he had a old photo of the Hall and info on the settlement of Burton,
It is amazing what he has in that little "museum" ,
He has BDM records for Warcop church from donkeys years ago,

The trouble is that it looks a very conventional house from those days and there are lots of them!
Is that what it says on her birth certificate?

Hi               "It's where my Grandma was born,"

She was born at Hilton (Bongate),Burton is in Warcop parish,
I then realised what I had written,It should have been where she lived,

She was living at Burton Hall when she gave birth to 2 sons(my half Uncles) and it was a piccy of the Hall i was after,

Don,t know off hand about a history group,but i may have a ride up to Hilton next month as there is a set of building at the bottom of the village that may just be them,
