Is anyone going to the records office.Searching for Brewer
« on: Thursday 13 March 08 21:19 GMT (UK) »

Please can anyone look up a marriage for me. If you are going to the records office.
I am searching for parents or parent  for Catherine Brewer born Bow Brickhill approx 1805. Catherine married a William E Joyce around 1827.
Have searched the parish records for a birth for Catherine, but appears birth was not registered.
So if anyone can find the Brewer's for me I can move on.
Thank you in advance

Hi Zena,

Can I ask - do you have another reason for thinking that Catherine was born/baptised in Bow Brickhill, other than that she married there?

The marriage is on the IGI - William Evans Joice = Catherine Brewer in Bow Brickhill on 21 May 1827.

I can find 3 of their children on the IGI - all baptised in Wavendon (about 2 miles from Bow Brickhill):

Maria 20 Mar 1831
Harriott 6 Jan 1839
William Evins 13 Nov 1842.

Can I suggest that - if you haven't already done so - you try to find the family on the early censuses (preferably the 1851 as the 1841 will only tell you if she was born in Bucks or not)) to see if Catherine gives Bow Brickhill as her birthplace. Hopefully, the family will still be in Wavendon in 1851.

There are quite a few Bucks parishes ( and even a couple of Beds parishes) within a 5 mile radius of Bow Brickhill - Catherine may have come from any of them.
