ancestors in Cavan

 Smiley Hi
There are a lot of people reading the postings on the Cavan site, so some of you must have ancestors from there!
My interest is in John & Ann Fitzgerald who in 1871 census claimed to be from Cavan.
They had a daughter Ruth A who was said to have been born in Cavan in 1855.
They moved to England and settled in Burnley Lancashire
Are there any other Cavan Fitzgerald's out there?

Hi Janet

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Merry Christmas Ticker  Smiley

It is 6am on a beautiful Christmas morning here in Queensland the sky is blue and the birds are singing and the grand kids are due in an hour or so!

Back to the Fitzgerald's! Well I must admit to putting this mob in the too hard basket! I have been concentrating on other branches of the tree!  Sad

Someone who was transcribing the 1871 census found them in Burnley in the 1871 census and they are there in 1881 but disappear again in 1891 although they had children/grandchildren born there in 1890/1.

The only extra information that I have is that Ann was called Maxwell before her marriage.

I know Ireland is a hard area to get info from especially before 1864'ish.

So busy boasting about the weather forgot to mention John Fitzgerald born circa 1836 and Ann Maxwell born circa 1839.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley

Thanx & A Happy and Healthy New Year to you!
cheers
