I have a Carleton Magrath who lived in Whitehaven with his family and he was a Master Mariner and in 1861 on 9th Feb he was lost at sea, I am trying to find out if there was an obituary for him as all his family came from Whitehaven. could any body please help me
His wife was called Ann and she was born there in 1823 but Carleton was born in Ireland, all his sons became mariners and his Father in law Thomas Caile was in the 1841 census a deputy harbour master in Whitehaven.
Hope some one can help me please.
