Marriage of Dinah PEARS to George ALLEN

this marriage was in 1839 cheadle parish church (st.marys)
can anyone give me further details of this ? at time of marriage they were residing at brinksway stockport. on the cert it shows dinah as a widow aged 24 and her married name was entwistle,  info on this marriage also if possible.  her father was samuel pears a gardener and george's father was robert allen a crofter. witnesses were john pears and geo smith. dinah through her married life again always seemed to be lodging with james hibbert and his wife mary. i have her in the 1851 census with 3 children eldest is ann age 16 could this be a child from her original marriage to mr entwistle. the other 2 children are john allen age 11  and frederick james aged 2
any help at all greatly appreciated whether on 1st marriage or 2nd.

Do remember that spelling was very wayward in those days.  The vicar wrote down what he heard and most people could not read well enough to check it.   You should be able to find Ashton on Mersey on an online map or in a gazetteer.   The genuki site will help.

Hi
There are lots of map sites online.   www.multimap.com or googlemap are two of them.  A gazetteer is a list of town names across the country.  A site that you might find useful is www.genuki.org.uk    It gives lots of information about the counties of England and includes lists of parishes.
Another very useful site which we all use for early parish registers is www.familysearch.org   If you go to the International Genealogical Index part of it there are a lot of baptisms and marriages on it.  Do be aware that it is not full coverage though and many parishes are missing.

I had a quick look on the IGI, but found nothing under Entwhistle.
Several Ann Entwhistles on 1841 census that could be her, difficult to tell as it does not give relationships.

www.cheshirebmd.org.uk have the death of a Richard Entwistle age 27 in Stockport in 1837.

They say the registers are in Stockport and the ref to order the cert from the website is ST1/1/4
