WHITING Shepton Mallet

Hi  Smiley

I've been trying to find the birth family of my ancestor HENRY WHITING born 1822 Shepton Mallet.

He moved to Wales (Wrexham) and married by 1861, but can find not record of him in Somerset before this time.

There seems to be no record of his marriage to ELIZABETH either.

Any help gratefully received

The IGI has 2 recorded. but both appear to have  the same parents.

Henry Whitting  b 27.6. 1823 Cannington, Somerset  - John Whitting and Elizabeth

Henry Whiting b 28.10.1824 Frome, Somerset - John Whiting and Elizabeth Carpenter.

Sorry not to have got back sooner, but I've changed my email addy and forgot to change my settings on here  Embarrassed

This may be my HENRY, but not sure why he always put SHEPTON MALLET as his pob when both Cannington and Frome seem to be the most likely places!

With no census's showing him before 1861, he's becoming a real mystery man!

dont think this is your man as the 1861 has him with a middle initial of w and neither of those baptisms include a middle name
