Hello,
I am looking for Thomas Grub (2) born circa 1763 and christened in Stoke St. Milborough on the 5th of May 1764 in Stoke St. Milborough, the son of Thomas Grub (1) and Mary Wilkes. He had a sister named Esther Grub, christened on the 8 Dec. 1765 in Stoke. He also had a sister named Jane Grub, christened on the 15th of May 1768.
I am not entirely sure if I am related to him, but I am investigating whether he is the illegitimate father of Thomas Bridgewater, born c. 1823 to Hannah Bridgwaters, who was a servant. I already have information on Thomas Bridgwater and Hannah. She later married and became Hannah Lloyd. If Thomas Grub (2) was her master, it is very possible he could have been the father of Thomas Bridgwater, but I have no information on who her master was. However, perhaps the father of Thomas Bridgwater was his son, also named Thomas Grub (3) and christened in 1793 in Diddlebury.
The reason I suspect Thomas Grub is because I have taken a Y-chromosome DNA test and found a relative in America within 9 generations from my male line with the surname Grubb.
So any information I can find on these Thomas Grubs in the 1841 or 1851 and possibly 1861 censuses would be helpful. If there's anyway I can find out his occupation and whether he was wealthy enough to have servants, that would be great.
Nicholas J. Bridgewater (or perhaps truly Grubb?? I don't know!)

I'm not aware of any connection between Hannah and the Grub family, but I don't know for sure.
How would I find trade directories of that region?
