WILLIAMS Marriage look-up

Hi,

Can anyone help me find the marriage of a John Williams (1829-     ) born Gnosall, Staffordshire to an Elizabeth 'Unknown' (1828-      ) born Lilleshall, Shropshire.  From the census their first child was probably Mary Ann Williams born 1849 in Lilleshall, so maybe there marriage was around 1849 in Lilleshall?

Any help would be great.

Hi there

From freebmd, a possible is Elizabeth Harrington, q/e Sep 1848 Newport vol 18 page 163 (Lilleshall came under Newport registration district). If you can locate the daughters birth certificate that should give you 100% confirmation of the mother's maiden name, also you could try and find this Elizabeth Harrington in  the 1841 census and see if it's a possible match .All the best
