For the 1841 census ages over 15 were rounded down to the nearest 5. This was not always done correctly though. I suspect many people had not much idea of their own age as the majority of working class people were unable to read or write.

Try searching on FreeBMD for a John T* MARSHALL, All Types, West Riding of Yorkshire, (say) Sep 1837 to Dec 1840.
