Hi,
Is there a marriage between a John Smith born 1811 Fatfield, county Durham... and a Susan (Susanna) 'Unknown' born 1814 Fatfield, County Durham... around 1834 in the Lumley area of Durham? They had a Daughter Margaret Smith born 1834 in Nowel Pit? County Durham.
I'm not not sure where Nowel Pit is.. or if i'm miss reading it from the census..

In 1841 they're in Lumley Thicks, Chester-le-Street

Hi,
regards the census... in 1851 she is in lumley with her family, and birth place down as Chester-le-street... but in 1871 after margaret's marriage to william cummings... her birth place is Nowel Pit, Durham.

1881 states Pody Pit! 1871 Definitely Nowel but can't see either pit on the mining site
I think though that you can safely assume she was born in and around Lumley, Chester-le- Street, but no baptism or marriage showing up on durhamrecordsonline yet, still looking

No marriage of a John and Susanna that fits their age in Co. Durham but there is one at Newcastle All Saints for Susanna Avery and John Smith 3 June 1833
My great grandparents X3 lived in Co. Durham and for what ever reason decided to marry at All Saints in Newcastle.
