I have a Samuel Beard born about 1830 in Bath according to the 1851 census when he was residing in Bristol Jail Cumberland Road, I have just found in the 19th century Papers that he was acquitted of stealing a bag of fat on 11 April 1851 so this explains why he was in Jail.
In 1853 he married Harriet Taylor born about 1829 Bristol on 16 May at St Phillip and Jacob they had two children in 1854 Augusta Frances and in 1860 Alice both were baptised at St P & J
In 1861 Harriet is living in Upper Cheese Lane Bristol (St P & J parish) with both daughters and is shown as a Widow.
I know what happened to Augusta Frances as she is my G Grandmother but of Harriet and Alice I can find no trace, nor have I found baptisms for Harriet or Samuel.
Any thoughts as how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jean
Thanks for your help I have Augusta Frances Marriage certificate as I said she is my g grandmother.
Unfortunately Alice only had the one first name I will look at the Thornbury marriage and check the census for possible married names.
