taxi driver 1914 around the Kingston area

Hi,

Does anyone have any knowledge of taxi driving companies in the Kingston area from 1914.  Quite an unusual job I imagine as cars were still fairly rare.  Any advice very welcome,

In London at least, horse drawn hansom cabs were mostly gone by 1914, thanks to imports of large numbers of Unic petrol driven taxis from France.
