BURIAL help please - William STOKOE
« on: Wednesday 19 March 08 12:45 GMT (UK) »

Hello

May I have a Burial lookup please for Northumberland for William STOKOE. He was probably in his mid twenties to thirties and died between 1804 and 1811.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards and God bless you,
Lynne x

Hi Lynne

There's only one close to your profile:

William Stokoe  buried 19 July 1813 St Mary the Virgin, Slaley. Age 23

Another half dozen are all aged 70 +
I searched 1800 - 1815

Hope this helps

Hi Mum44

Thanks for checking. Too late unfortunately as William's widow remarried in 1811.

Could I possibly have another lookup please for William's widow's second husband's uncle? He may have died young so age is not likely as he was born in 1747/48. His name was Michael YIELDER. Also in Northumberland and possibly will turn out to be buried at Halton.

William STOKOE married my 4x Great Grand Aunt Mary RUTTER and have just discovered Mary remarried - to my 1st cousin 6x removed Bartholomew DOBISON! Mary and Bartholomew were not related tho'! [Michael YIELDER was Bartholomew's mother's brother!]  Cheesy

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards and God bless you,
Lynne x

Hello again

Not doing very well here  Cry

I searched 1740 - 1810 for Michael Yielder.
There is only one on the register for Northumberland

Michael Yielder buried 2 Dec 1789 St Mary the Virgin Stamfordham.  Infant

This is the next nearest match for William Stokoe

Hi Mum44

Got there in the end ... scrollin', scrollin', scrollin'!!!  Grin

Thanks very much for checking for Michael. Have no idea what happened to him. As it is a fairly unusual name hoped he would not be too hard to find!  Huh

Thanks for the additional info for William STOKOE. Not outside the bounds of possibility even though he would have been 20 years older than Mary. The parish of Corbridge is where Mary lived with second husband Bartholomew DOBISON so well worth checking, thank you!

Thanks again for all your help.

Kind regards and God bless you,
Lynne x
