Hi Ricky,
Thats the one, l was thinking of, and after all this believe her to be my Elizabeth. Sad she never married makes me wonder why, was there something wrong with her. The Seaby name is often spelt Sabey, Seaby, Leaby, Slaby. makes it fun.

Hi Jean
Looks like she may never have married, at least its easier than chasing some names that come on here . You never know, the one we found that is the daughter of Samuel, might come in useful one day, if not for you, then anyone else looking up the Seaby surname.
regards ricky

What you could do is make a complete paper trail (with all the birth and marriage certifcates) starting with yourself and going back a generation at a time until you get to Elizabeth Seaby. Then present it (photocopies) to Stanley and let him digest it all before you mention anything about some of his research being wrong.

Its not that his research is wrong we got to a stage where l think we both thought we had the right person so we did what we are not suposed to do and that is assume. With the kind help of Ricky and Sandy we have elimated that Elizabeth. Had a long think last night about it and have put an email together which l think is ok, its an easy mistake l have done it myself, so hopefully things will be ok. l had sent him pretty much of what l had and visa versa.
fingers crossed

Hi Jean
Its always better to have more eyes looking for someone. I learnt that the hardway after chasing what I thought was the right family when I started doing this many moons ago, only to find out it was the wrong one.

Hi Ricky,
You made me feel better, at least l know now other people have done the same thing. But still feel bad that time was spent helping me only to arrive at the wrong Elizabeth.
If l am allowed in Heaven will will reck havoc on my ancestors
Think today better try mom's side of the family

I didnt mind doing the lookup, so dont feel bad about it. Its better to find out now that its the wrong one, than go and order certificates etc, which would be a waste of money. Anyway I had nothing to watch on the telly

You never know, could turn out to be one of yours. I put mine in files, just incase they are part of the family. Its cold wet and miserable here tonight not as cold as last night, when I took the dog out for a walk at 3.30 in the morning. Poor devil wondered where I was taking him that time of night, saved me having to get up about 6 to let him out
