Hello Folks,
I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me. I'm researching my husbands family tree, he knows very little about them......the name is O'Fee and from Dundee....this is what I have so far......
GEORGE O'FEE 1825 'm' Maryann Marks >
they had a son who married twice EDWARD O'FEE 1850 'M' Helen Thomson.1875.then Annie Duffy,1887>
EDWARD & ANNIE had a son EDWARD 1890 'M' Catherine Dunne, who had four children one of which was my husbands father JOSEPH O'FEE [this Edward was in the Hong Kong police at one stage in his life] I know there are more siblings in each generation but have had some confusion along the line...1891 census the family stayed 6 Derby st, but on this Edward is 4 months old and the mother in the family is Ellen [not Annie]?
any information on any of The O'Fee's living in Dundee [the family was originally from Ireland] and most of them worked in the jute mill many thanks for taking an interest in my post...look forward to hearing from anyone regarding ANY of the above

Can't really help here although I note you appear to have Edwards birth year as 1835 but according to census he was bc.1854 - the marriage of his parents -(George O'Fee and Mary Ann Marks) was 28/11/1849 Rasharkin, Antrim which would tie in with this. I would think that the wife Ellen shown on the 1891 Census was simply the enumerators error. The boarder Ellen was probably Edward's sister and the enumerator got confused!
Interesting to note there are few O'Fee's even in Ireland.
Don't know if you are aware but the Irish Family History Foundation are working on b/m/d's and it shows the records for Antrim are 'coming soon'.
Their address: www.brsgenealogy.com
Good Luck.
Annette

Hi SOFEE ,
I think you should check the 1901 Scottish census for this family to check the Ellen/Annie problem. I am sure there is some reason as already stated could just be an error.
