Largest Set of children of the same sex

Having spoken to my cousin this morning it appears I made a mistake to what I posted earlier.   There were in fact 10 girls.

COPPEN George and wife Catherine (nee Fisher) had 10 daughters in a row: Emily Elizabeth b.1869, Gertrude Mary A. b.1871, Adelaide Elizabeth b.1872, Alice Eliza b.1874, Naomi b.1875, Ina Alberta b.1877, Polly May b.1881, Florence Beatrice b.1882, Dora Malvina b.1885 and Blanche b.1886.   Then came, at last, a son - Royal Augustus George b.1887.

I'd like to claim a record of the most children 16 who are still living, same mother and father and  no twins or multiple births. My mother and father had 9 girls and 7 boys. These births took place between 1941 - 1968!  No doubt the days of big families are probably over with the birth control available these days.

I think this man beats us all when it comes to most children:

Wouldn't fancy doing his family tree.  Grin
