« on: Friday 21 March 08 02:49 GMT (UK) »

Hi List

I am researching the surname DEEPUP my 9 times great grandmother was a bridget DEEPUP born around 1680 unknown place.
Bridget married  john image in 1701 peterborough cathedral, northampton they had a son elias my 8 times great granfather.
I have been told that the surname could be dutch but i think iot sounds french but we could be both wrong.
By the 1800's the surname was no more only one deepup in 1844 a bernadette deepup was born i think after that the surname became de pape.
The deepup's were around the witham on the hill area of lincoln and also peterborough and northampton.
Other spelling of the surname dee pupe, deepuepp.
Anyone out their a deepup descendant or know of such a surname
