Looking for the birth and parents of Joseph Wilson c1800 born in Scotland. Joseph married Phillis Landles on 04.09.1825 in tweedmouth. I cannot trace his birth , parents or any siblings. The same geos for Phillis. I think Joseph married for a second time c 1860 and had a daughter Elizabeth Fenwick wilson b 1864-1871. Joseph died in 1872 and is buried with his daughter Elizabeth.
regards, Nicola

Ho hum
Just come off another Wilson thread.
From the IGI - all extracted records. Searched from 1825 - 1845. Born to Joseph Wilson and Phillis /Phyllis (no female surname given, but see child 4 - 'Sandles'). I believe that these are children of this couple - all christened at 'Golden Square Presbyterian or Scotch Church, Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumberland
1. George Wilson b. 07 Jun 1826 ch. 02 Jul 1826 2. John Martin Wilson b. 11 Mar 1828 ch 30 Mar 1828 3. Robert Tower Robertson Wilson b. 08 Apr 1834. ch 27 Apr 1834 4. Phyllis Sandles Wilson b. 23 Apr 1836. ch 19 May 1836. ________________________________________________________ There are also 2 other female children being born in 1825 and 1827 to a Joseph Wilson and a Fillis in Kirkheaton , Yorkshire. ________________________________________________________
If Joseph or Phyllis died in Scotland - his/her death entry can be obtained by download from the pay per view site www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk - will give parents names and occupations - and witness to death - often a family member. £6 will buy 5 extracts - no need to purchase further certs as these give the same info.
Regards, Steve :O)

Just back off the IGI
Searched from 1862 - 1872 for an Elizabeth Fenwick Wilson - out of 1891 entries for Elizabeth Wilson - only one 'submitted' entry. Birth. 08 Jun 1864, Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland, England.
Father - John Wilson Mother - Eleanor.
Assuming the mothers name to be Fenwick, a 'submitted marriage found for Eleanor Fenwick and John Wilson on 05 apr 1858, Saint Nicholas, newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland. England.
Regards, Steve :O) - sore eyes now - off to have a rest :O)

Thanks Steve. Getting to put the family jigsaw together now. I thought that the 2 Elizabeth Fenwick Wilsons were the daughters of Joseph Wilson and Mary Carr. Nicola

Hi Nicola
I'm confused Joseph Wilson b. Scotland c. 1800 and married to Phillis shows as a widower right through to the 1871 census in Tweedmouth Berwick. There is no sign of a remarriage from the censuses and no child Ellizabeth at any point in the censuses in the household. If this Joseph died in 1872 and is buried next to his daughter Elizabeth, then no info is showing on the censuses that connect this Joseph to a daughter Elizabeth born in the 1860s. Joseph and Phillis had a daughter Isabella (born c. 1830). Isabella can be a variant of Elizabeth but the birth year is about 30yrs out.
In 1871, Joseph is showing a birth place of PARTON Scotland. Parton is in Kircudbrightshire. Not sure if connected, but there is one Wilson birth to a father George (the name of Joseph's first born son) in Parton on the Old Parish Registers:
18/12/1809 WILSON DANIEL GEORGE WILSON/ M Parton /KIRKCUDBRIGHT 878/ 0010 0030
Have you had a look at the details from the 1825 marriage? It might give you some clues as to the fathers of Joseph and Phillis.
Was this Joseph's death entry:
Deaths Sep 1872 Wilson Joseph 72 Berwick 10b 231
Regards.
Monica
