FRENCH of Maidstone area, Kent
« on: Friday 21 March 08 16:59 GMT (UK) »

In particular I'm looking for connections with;

David FRENCH b. 21.9.1860 in East Farleigh, Kent.   His wife Louisa Jane nee. Masters, and their children
Ada (b. West Farleigh 1882):
Mabel (1884) , Margaret (always known as Maggie b. 1886), Leonard (1889) all born East Farleigh:
Charles (1890), Nellie (1896), Donald (1897) all born in Loose and Edward Linton FRENCH 13.7.1898 Coxheath.

Also:  John FRENCH b. 1819 married Ann Frances Connell nee GREEN and their children
William, Gabriel, Agnes, Emma, David (as above) and Albert.

David and John were both farmers and fruiterers and at one time had Pear Tree Farm, Gallants Lane, Coxheath.

Ann's family (the Greens) were also some-time farmers and for many years kept The Swan public house at Shernold Pond, Loose (now part of Loose Road, Maidstone).

Although I've had success with the Greens, I would particularly like to hear from anyone who knows of, or has a connection with, any of the FRENCHs listed.

In anticipation

Probably no connection to your French family Mogsmum, but I have a Frances French (b 1794 Higham Kent) she married John de Frates who was a Mariner from Rochester. Any good to you at all?
Regards
Carol
