Does anybody know anything about this inn? I have a newspaper report about my gr x3 grandfather, whose inquest was held there two days after he was taken there, burnt to death. I can't imagine how they could have used it for both purposes, unless there was a separate part especially used for that. The jury even attended the inquest there, handy for a pint afterwards?
On one of the epiodes of WDYTYA, I think it might have been Lesley Garrett .... an inquest was held for an ancestor who had been poisoned. This was also held in a pub.
I'm sure the promise of a pint afterwards ensured they all turned up.
It looks like a big place, plenty of space to be used for both purposes. I wonder if the proprietors know the history of the place, and if they would be comfortable knowing it?
I wonder how many pubs that we drink in nowadays were used for the same purpose?
