Walter only appears in the 1901 census (by then aged 19) but then again his sister Amelia doesn't show on the 1891 census either, only the 1901. He is down as Walter C H Stephens. I can find a birth record for Sept 1882 where he is listed as Walter Charles A Stephens (Axbridge). I cannot find a marriage for him but there is a death record for a Walter C H Stephens in Sept 1910 (who was born abt 1882). I've been approached by someone who believes my Walter could be her grandfather; her father's birth certificate of 1913 lists the father as Walter Harry Stephens (dec'd) and her father was born in Blagdon. This would mean that the father of this child was born 1912/1913 but could there be a slim chance that these Walters are the same person?
Thanks for any help of this one.

Hi
You will find him with his family (inc Amelia) on the 1891 census transcribed as Walter C Stephen
RG12; Piece: 1923; Folio 26; Page 7
If Walter C H Stephens died 1910 - he cannot have been the father of a child b 1913
What was the name of the mother plus maiden name on the 1913 birth cert as there are a couple of Walter Harry Stephens births on freebmd

Thanks Carole. I had forgotten when I done my original research that by 1891 the family had seemed to split: Parents (Edmund & Mary) with Alfred (aka George), Amelia, Ernest, Louis, Mary A & Walter, and, the rest (with exception of Beatrice who had married) Alice, Bevis, Edmund, Francis & James (head of that household). As Walter is listed as born 1882 I wonder why isn't he listed on 1881 census. I can only find Alice, Beatrice, Edmund, Francis, George, James, Louis & Mary.
I will try and get mother's first and maiden name on the 1913 birth certificate I mentioned.
Incidentally can anyone find a marriage for my Walter C A (or sometimes translated as H) Stephens. The C stands for Charles.
