Hi Evelina, Would you look for a John S(c)later for me. I have no idea when he died though, and also a Janet Gardner, maybe sometime around 1850. Many Thanks Anne p.s. John was a quarryman.

Hi Evalina, Thank you for the info. I am not sure if these are mine, I will have to look at Johns siblings again. Alexander is certainly the right time frame.
Regards Anne.

Evelina,
I hope your offer is still valid after these few months. My elusive ancestor was Rev James Taylor who according to the family Bible was the father of Marjory Taylor. The only wife/ mother I could find was Isabel Taylor [nee Steel] who might have died in childbirth in 1786 at Caputh? Could you look for her OR a wife of James Taylor who would have died after 1786?
Thanking you Beth
Hi I have the MI's for Caputh if anyone wants a look-up, Cheers Evelina

Hi Evalina
Again if the offer is still on I wonder if you would be good enough to check out McGregors/McGrigors who were buried in Caputh Graveyard. The family I am particluarly interested in are an Archibald McGregor who I believe died on 23 Jun. 1861. His wife was Isabella Watson though I do not yet know when she died. His parents were a Robert McGrigor (died 24 Jan 1820) and his wife Janet McDonald (died 28 Sep 1814). Any info of any sort would be most valuable. I did visit the actual cemetery a couple of weeks ago but I could not see any stones with that name (though I did not have much time to look).
Thanks in advance
Robert Dunn

Hi Robert,
Found this:-
1832 - Sacred to the memory of Robert McGrigor who died in Caputh 24th January 1820 aged 83 years, and Janet McDonald, his spouse, who died 28 th September 1814 aged 68 years, and their son John McGrigor, Mason, Caputh who died 16th November 1936 aged 57 years.
Nothing on Archilbald or Isabella sorry. Cheers Evelina.

Evelina - thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I had hoped to find an Archibald McGregor due to fact his death cert states he died in the Parish of Caputh on 23 Jun. 1861. His daughter also died in Caputh in 1871 and I thought there may have been a family grave there.
Alas I will continue with my investigations.
Thanks again.
Robert
