well i have searched high and low...sorry no pun intended !
Been going through the BMD indexes but nothing..
Sarah ellen Lowe born shardlow we think...1889 fathers name Albert Lowe.
Married a Walter Smith in April 1917...in Nottingham.
it says on her marraige certificate her father was a foundry lab...when she married in 1917 it says her father was deceased....

there is a Sarah Elizabeth low birth reg mar qtr 1890 Shardlow district
why do you think her birth was reg in Shardlow
1901 there is a Sarah Lowe (age differs slightly) -father Arthur occ Coal Miner-hewer -census gives her p.o.b. as Ilkeston Derbys - Ilkeston comes within Basford reg district.
Who are witnesses on the marriage cert - might they be family members? That would give a further clue.

Hi suz....
Well we were told she was sheffeild possibly winkerbank but then shardlow was mentioned and i see from her childrens birth certificates they were born in shardlow...also someone told me derby/sheffeild were classed as the same district ??
The witnesses were a F smith and A M Smith so i suspect they were my grandfathers relatives....
he was 40 when they married and a widower...

the Ilkeston b. Sarah -one of he children was b in Yorks.
Derby and Sheffield do not come under the same reg district.

Ecclesall Bierlow covers part of Yorks and part of Derbys
looked through all Albert lowe deaths and in 1891 census can't seem to find one that fits - looked at all births for Sarah Ellen -no joy
will have to think about this one
How certain are you of her y.o.b.?

well on her death certificate it says she was 79 when she died and the date of death is 1st march 1966.
on her wedding certificate it says...she was 28 in 1917.....
