Redways/Rideways Estate, Exminster
« on: Sunday 23 March 08 00:05 GMT (UK) »

I am seeking any info on where this estate is/was in the Exmouth area. I tend to believe that it has either disappeared or changed its name.
Thanks, Darren

Hi
There is a Reddaway Drive in modern day Exminster.
It passes immediately in front of a V. large building which is identified on http://www.old-maps.co.uk/indexmappage2.aspx as a County Lunatic Asylum.

The old Devon Lunatic Asylum later Exminster hospital was closed down and the main building converted into housing and many new houses were built in the grounds. It is now on Reddaway Drive, which was cut through the grounds.
