Questions re "modify" COMPLETED WITH THANKS
« on: Sunday 23 March 08 11:09 GMT (UK) »

A couple of questions I would be grateful if someone can answer please -:

I know you can "modify" your own posts but is it possible to "modify" the PM's you send too?

Also, after posting, if you then wish to modify, is your reply visable to others while you modify/make the changes to your post? eg. Sometimes I am in the middle of making changes to a post (incorrect info, spelling mistakes etc) and I wonder if others are able to see my errors while I'm in the process of changing them?

Thanks.

Hi Ruskie,

PMs can't be modified.

As for posts, they stay the way you first posted them until you've successfully hit the modify button  Smiley

A very general observation, addressed to everybody  Smiley :

Quote
I am, however going to "modify" my post above ....

Unfortunately, this shows up one of the weaknesses of the "Modify" button:
but I wonder why there is a "modify" option on the "sent" PM's page?
LOL, I don't know! I don't seem to have it at all  Huh Tongue

If Tati hadn't quoted Ruskie, anyone now reading the topic wouldn't know what these replies referred to.

"Modify" should be used cautiously: either to correct an obvious error or spelling mistake, or to add something to the post.

But please, please, think about the effect on the whole topic, before you decide to delete something.

In hopes,
Bob

I really like that "modify" option. It covers a multitude of my sins.  Grin

No, on a serious note Bob, it's very handy for correcting spelling errors and so on.
