« on: Sunday 23 March 08 11:48 GMT (UK) »

Please any help at all.
I have a Samuel Varney Born 1834 in Nottingham married to Bridget Huh?? Born  1823 -1903   born I think Kilmore..Roscommon Ireland.I can't find a marriage for them ,or  Birth Certificates for their Children.I believe Samuel was in the Army at one time in Portsmouth/Winchester.
Children..........
Sarah Varney  1853 ........Cape of Good Hope
William   "        1856.........Dublin
Samuel   "        1858........Portsmouth
Mary       "        1861........Portsmouth
Matilda Anastatia 1863....Winchester

Matilda married Albert Ernest Hall Dec 1883 Nottingham Ref 7b 684.My Great Grand parents
I am trying to find Samuel and Bridgets marriage, but I thought if I could find one of the childrens Birth Certificates it would give me their mothers maiden name.
Regards

Are ages and birthplaces consistent throughout census?

What are they in each available?

I'd search his army records, to see if there's any notes there about marriage(s)

as for his death, one of the two in Notts 1861/1865 looks favourite at the moment (without searching all indexes)
