Do you have a house number for Church Lane, Castle Donington ?
If so I can have a wander round and see if the house is still there ?

I cant find them on there long story !!!

It seems my grandad was a widower when he and my Gran Sarah ellen Lowe got married in 1917...

they had several children before getting wed !!!!

Walter Smith Lowe 1907 shardlow

Harold smith Lowe  1908 shardlow

Clara Lily smith Lowe 1910 church lane castle donington

Winifred Smith Lowe 1914  Nottingham..

now i have been told because they wasnt married until 1917 the children would have taken both surnames...its all very confusing ...i can find find neither my Gran sarah ellen or Grandad walter anywhere..

there are 2 signitures on the wedding cerificates..i assume these are witnesess..
F Smith and A M Smith...i can only think that they were in some way relatives, maybe brothers or sisters of his.

Hi, this is the local map of the area. Church street is really small so there may have only been one house other than perhaps the vicarage?
