Owen Lamb, Stirling
« on: Sunday 23 March 08 20:02 GMT (UK) »

Am searching for Owen Lamb and family in stirling about the beginning of the 1900s. he was from county Monaghan, had as far as we know one daughter either Maggie ann or Mary ann, He was born about 1866 and moved to Scotland. Popssibly had a stepsister known as "Red Maggie" or Maggie Duffy. Lambs came to Ireland every July for years and my late father met them at the train station in Castleblayney, nothing known after the early 1930s so possibly Owen Died.
All sort of help appreciated. thanks Roisin Lafferty

Hi Roisin and welcome to Rootschat

There are only 2 Owen Lamb's on the Scottish 1901 - both shown as b Scotland

One b 1869 was married to Helen and had the following children

Catherine aged 10
Eliza 8

All are shown as b Glasgow

The other Owen was only b 1883 Forfarshire

thanks a million. I have an address at 2 Coborg steet but when I wrote to the council was told that the street is no longer there. Will check again as the daugher most have been in her teens by the time she sent the cards  in 1910... they even had a car.... dont know how they managed it or if it was hired maybe. They came every summer to Monaghan had a wooden chalet at the gable of Owens birthplace. Wonder if he might be under a different name in Scotland. will have a look thru my papers, thanks again. Roisin
